'Entropy' Book Launch: Signing & Discussion with Diane Tuft

25 April 2024

Join us for a panel discussion surrounding the UMOCA Projects Gallery exhibition Entropy, which explores the ecological changes the photographer, Diane Tuft, has witnessed in the Great Salt Lake. Continuing the ongoing lecture series regarding climate change, UMOCA hopes to explore the role of entropy (through the nuanced scope of anthropogenic or geologically produced disasters and changes) not only regarding the lake and its disappearance (as captured in the photographs of Tuft), but to look at the notion of entropy broadly, and to examine, through the lens of various professions, the way all systems devolve into chaos and ruin, what it means for our ever-changing world, and for us as people who reside in a shifting landscape.

This event will also celebrate the launch of Tuft’s book Entropy, featuring images from the exhibition.
