FIDALIS BUEHLER
Fidalis Buehler is a mixed-media artist based in northern Utah. His life and work is a blend of two cultures – one of Euro-American descent and the other of Pacific Island heritage. Buehler received his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the University of Hawaii in Honolulu and his Master’s of Fine Arts from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he now lives and works as an associate professor of studio art. His practice manifests complex representations of identity through American and South Pacific tradition, with each piece becoming a self-portrait of fear, anxiety, mythology, dreams, revelation, magic, mysticism and ritual.
