MODERN WEST’S NEXT CHAPTER…

Modern West is pleased to announce its relocation to the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah in the beginning of next year. With this move, the gallery will focus on strategic artwork placement, collaborative exhibitions, and art consultation and advisory services while continuing to showcase artworks in partnership with a broad selection of artists and institutions. Modern West’s new headquarters will be located at 242 East South Temple, with a tentative opening in mid-January 2026.

Founded in 2014 by Diane Stewart, Modern West has spent over a decade supporting both established and emerging artists through hundreds of in-person, online and collaborative exhibitions. In an effort to embrace the evolving post-pandemic art market, the gallery will shift from its traditional artist representation and exhibition programming to projects that reach regional, national and global audiences.

“We hope to expand our voice and artists’ work with greater impact through collaborations and curations that include museums, art centers and galleries throughout the West,” says Stewart.  “And we will continue to bring a global perspective to our local community.”

As Modern West anticipates this change, the gallery will extend the exhibition Fidalis Buehler: Stories from the Bone Box through November 26, 2025, with a final celebration of the space to take place on Friday, November 21 from 6-8 PM during Salt Lake Gallery Stroll. All are invited and welcome to attend. The gallery will be available by appointment only throughout its move in December and early January.
