Shalee Cooper

Shalee Cooper is an artist, curator and director at Modern West and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Cooper has worked as the photo editor of 15 Bytes Magazine, associate instructor at the University of Utah and as an independent photographer and curator. Inspired by her career in curation, many of her paintings are installation-focused – allowing the viewer to curate their own form or orientation. Influenced by her background in photography, Cooper’s gesso paintings on raw canvas explore balance and relation between positive and negative space in the most minimal way possible.
