Dick Jemison is a mixed-media abstract expressionist who creates a rich variety of work that explores how texture, shape, pattern, and color can communicate raw, inner emotion and the human primal instinct to express and evolve. His bold, colorful paintings reflect his deep interest in mark making and the human hand, creating a visual language both primitive and familiar. He also infuses organic and inorganic matter into his paints before application. Such phenomena--sometimes man made and sometimes not--evoke a painting surface seemingly disfigured by man, the elements or the passing of time.
